John Short

Since I was 9, I have been heavily involved with cricket. I joined Norths Cricket Club in Townsville and continue to play for them to this day, becoming a lifetime member. When I was nine, I played alongside Stuart Law and again for QLD in u15s in New Zealand.

During the 1990s, I spent time playing in Brisbane before returning to North
Queensland. The last few years I have enjoyed playing Masters cricket for
Townsville, Brisbane, Queensland and Australia. I am also a franchisee member and player in the Master’s Spirit of Cricket Competition held annually in Mildura.  The camaraderie that has come from playing each week with these teammates is what has made cricket what it is today.

I have spent many years on the administration board for Norths Cricket, then
Townsville Cricket and now Cricket North Queensland and am excited to continue to help build the game of cricket.
